I’ve been with Agence France-Presse since 2018, joining them first in their Bangkok bureau before moving to Hong Kong as an Asia editor. I was later appointed bureau chief for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, overseeing a team of multimedia journalists. Today, I’m currently in Sydney as AFP’s digital verification editor, where I work to debunk misinformation circulating in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Before joining the wire world, I was a freelance reporter for four years. My reporting focus was on the garment manufacturing supply chain, though that interest often intersected with migrant worker and refugee issues. I’ve traveled to Bangladesh, Turkey, Mongolia and Myanmar – among many other countries – for work, some of which has appeared in National Geographic, Los Angeles Times, South China Morning Post, Al Jazeera, Women's Wear Daily, TIME and Buzzfeed.
I also created a four-episode podcast series, Southeast Asia, etc., featuring interviews with journalists around the region.
Previously, I was an associate editor and daily news reporter at The Cambodia Daily, a research assistant for investigative reporter Wayne Barrett at The Village Voice, and an editorial and photo assistant at The New York Times Syndicate.
